Shore's Birds
Homeopathic Remedies from the Avian Realms
For over ten years Jonathan Shore has been proving and gathering information of
remedies made from birds. This book is the result and literally opens up a whole
new realm to us. The book covers pelican, macaw, dove, hawk, owl, heron, eagle,
raven, peregrine falcon, sacher falcon, vulture, condor, penguin, mute and
whooper swan, and albatross. I think you'll find that many of your tubercular
patients that fit these remedies. For ReferenceWorks 4
Vermeulen's Prisma
Frans Vermeulen is one of our greatest homeopathic scholars and
his books go well beyond most other homeopathic materials into the inner story
of the remedies. Prisma is my favorite - there are two hundred remedies from
Aconite to Zinc explored in painstakingly researched detail covering the
history, folklore, myths, chemical, botanical or zoological make-up of each
remedy. There's old, new and re-provings, clinical symptoms, contemporary
concepts, themes and issues. Many homeopaths believe this is the most important
book they own - but beyond that it is just fascinating to read.

Complete 2005 for ReferenceWorks
The sheer size of this new repertory is astounding: one and a half
million remedies in one hundred and eighty thousand rubrics. That's three times
larger than Kent, six times Boenninghausen and twenty five times Boericke's
repertory. 994 publications were incorporated, resulting in more than a million
additions, corrections and cross-references. We've turned it into a materia
medica of rubrics and created the largest homeopathic book ever made. Nearly
three times more information than Allen's Encyclopedia, twenty five times
Vermeulen's Synoptic, forty times Boericke's Materia Medica and eighty-three
times Morrison's Desktop Guide. All in all it is a full 10% of the whole
ReferenceWorks library! New Provings: There are tens of
thousands of additions from hundreds of new provings. A short list includes a
wonderful mix of insects (giant centipede, dragonfly, fly); sea creatures
(goldfish, octopus, salmon, sea wasp, sea-horse, stonefish); birds (canary,
condor, falcon, ibis, pelican, road-runner, scarlet macaw, swan, vulture);
animals (alligator, koala, mouse, rat, dinosaur bone, camel, dolphin, elephant,
horse, lion, wolf); plants (chocolate, hemp, olive, orchid, reindeer moss,
vanilla); minerals (alabaster, amethyst , diamond , fool's gold, neon , ruby,
sapphire, turquoise); drugs (diazepam, prednisol, tryptophan); virus (aids,
epstein barr, herpes); and manufactured items (coca cola, LSD, wine,
polystyrene, rubber), etc. Richer Families: Or think in terms of
having complete families: for example, over fifteen thousand additions were made
to the spider remedies alone (the bird, three black widows, two brown recluses,
cross, cuban tarantula, funnel-web, house, orange, orb weaver, red-back, two
six-eyed crabs, white tailed, wolf and zebra jumping spiders as well as cobweb.
Notice most of the remedies are new, too! Up-to-date: There are
tens of thousands of clinical additions from contemporary homeopaths such as
Andre Saine (7,903) and Alphons Geukens (4,500), etc. For ReferenceWorks

Massimo's Notes for
ReferenceWorks
These are the course notes from Massimo Mangialavori's Italian school in
ReferenceWorks.
This was one of the world's greatest courses for experienced homeopaths; roughly
half of the students were teachers. I use the past tense because the course only
ran for three years (Massimo doesn't enjoy repeating himself).
Six Sessions
Each set of notes covers a nine day session of 65 hours; there are
six sets in all representing more than 370 hours of teaching. It took place in a
lovely monastery in Bologna - one of the oldest and most beautiful towns in
northern Italy and seat of the first university in Europe. Linda and I attended
the course and it was incredible. The notes were typed verbatim, cleaned up from
audio recordings and organized for clarity by Vicky Burley and then approved by
Massimo. Use
I've kept the original organization so that you can read the
course in the order it was given and I duplicated all of the remedy information
putting it under each remedy so you can immediately find the remedy you need.
Beyond that I have given this information extra strong emphasis in the analysis;
if you type in what Massimo considers to be one of the central themes you'll
find these remedies they come up high in the analysis.
Development
The course was organized by developmental stages - in both the
patients and the homeopaths. For example the first session covers the basic
organization of people and remedies; Massimo has a simple system for organizing
the symptoms of remedies. Simple symptoms are the most superficial way to
express something that doesn't work. Coherent Groups of Symptoms are repeated
symptoms and have more importance. General themes bring different together
different types of symptoms. Fundamental themes are a way of being; a strategy
towards life that runs through the person's life. At the same time he discusses
cases whose core issues revolve around the absence of a sense of fundamental
security. In this first session he presented two cured cases for each of two
dozen remedies. Where else can you see detailed, wonder cases of Venus, Pectin,
Oleum jecoris, Gadus, badiago, etc. In any good case of Gadus, the cod, he says
you will always see they approach life with a sense of distance, immaturity,
need of safety, weakness and withdrawal. You will usually see the main
complaints to be related to breakdown, malabsorption and burning pains and they
commonly have issues with chilliness, milk and water. It is likely they will
present with allergies or intolerance and a loss of weight. In this process he
shows that the main elements also appear in almost all of the sea creatures and
he graphically demonstrates this through cases. In the end you know what to
expect in any remedies made from the sea. Price
Each session is 45 dollars, 40 euros or 35 pounds.
Session 1
Remaining In A Safe Environment: Sea Remedies, Calciums, Natrums and
related remedies
An introduction to Massimo's approach of homeopathic families and the concept of
fundamental themes (features that should be present for a deeply curative
prescription).
Remedies presented through cases and discussion: Ambra grisea, Aqua marina,
Asterias, Astacus, Badiaga, Calcarea carbonica, Corallium rubrum, Cypraea
eglantina, Gadus morhua, Homarus, Limulus cyclops, Medusa, Murex, Oleum jecoris,
Pecten, Sepia, Spongia and Venus. The families of Calciums, Natrums and their
related remedies, and some Halogens.
Session 2
Unreliable Basic Support: Silicas, Magnesiums and related remedies
The fundamentals every homeopath needs: perception, case taking and the
recognition of the patient's personal relationship to their symptoms. Massimo
shows how much more powerful our prescribing is when we develop our own
perception as opposed to mimicking other homeopaths. Case taking is balancing
creativity and technique, skill and improvisation, analogy and logic, subjective
and objective, female and male. Therapy is a way to accompany the patient in his
journey. It is like accompanying a horse back home who knows his way but is
sometimes distracted.
Cases and discussion of Silicium and related remedies: Alumina silicata,
Calcarea silicata, Natrum silicatum, Kali silicatum, Equisetum, Bambusa,
Sphingurus, Castor equi and more. Carbonium related remedies: Carbo vegetabilis,
Carbo animalis, Carboneum sulphuratum, Graphites, Germanium, Adamas. Magnesium
and related remedies: Magnesium carbonicum, Magnesium iodatum, Magnesium
muriaticum, Magnesium fluoratum, Magnesium phosphoricum, Magnesium sulphuricum,
Colocynthis, Luffa operculata.
Session 3
Knowledge, Seduction, Forsakenness: Snakes, Reptiles and related remedies
Evaluating what is important in case analysis especially in relation to the
fundamental themes of the homeopathic family. Going deeply into the world of a
group of remedies.
Cured cases of Snakes, Reptiles and similars are presented: Bothrops, Cenchris,
Crotalus horridus, Crotalus cascavella, Elaps, Heloderma, Hydrophis cyanocinctus,
Lachesis, Naja, Toxicophus pugnax, Tyrannosaurus rex, Vipera berus, Zincum
phosphoricum, Zincum valeriana and related. Melilotus officinalis case and
discussion also presented.
Session 4
Identifying With Society: Kalis, Ammoniums and related remedies
For certain substances, the process of individualizing the self is the biggest
issue, the main point of weakness for these systems. The remedies studied deal
with the problem of seeking their individuality for all their lives.
Kalium and related remedies: Kali arsenicosum, Kali bichromicum, Kali bromatum,
Kali carbonicum, Kali ferrocyanatum, Kali iodatum, Kali muriaticum, Kali
nitricum, Kali phosphoricum, Kali picricum, Kali silicata, Kali sulphuricum,
Causticum and more. Ammonium and related remedies: Ammonium carbonicum, Ammonium
bromatum, Ammonium iodatum, Ammonium muriaticum, Ammonium phosphoricum, Ammonium
valerianicum and more.
Session 5
Identity And Individualism: Milks, Insects, Parasites and related remedies
In the mammals the children are precious and the issue of leaving the protection
of one's family is central; for the insects it is all about vast numbers and the
fight to survive.
Milks: Lac asinum, Lac caninum, Lac capra, Lac defloratum, Lac delphinum, Lac
equinum, Lac felinum, Lac glama, Lac leoninum, Lac lupinum, Lac ovis, Lac suis,
Lac vaccinum, Lac yama, and similars. Insects: Apis, Blatta orientalis,
Cantharis, Coccus cacti, Coccinella septempunctata, Formica rufa, Vespa,
Parasites: Doryphora decemlineata, Cimex lectularius, Hirudo officinalis,

diadema, Latrodectas mactans, Mygale, Theridion.
Session 6
Precious and Base Metals: An Alchemical View
Using logical and analogical perspectives. The history of Alchemy and the four
elements and how it can inform our understanding of remedies.
The remedies discussed include: Aurum arsenicosum, Aurum muriaticum, Aurum
muriaticum natronatum, Argentum metallicum, Argentum muriaticum, Cuprum
arsenicosum, Cuprum metallicum, Cuprum sulphuricum, Ferrum arsenicosum, Ferrum
metallicum, Ferrum muriaticum, Ferrum phosphoricum, Ferrum nitricum, Ferrum
